INFRASTRUCTURE

Accomodation :

• The institute provides high class hostel accommodation to the students. The hostels are located inside the campus in a beautiful lash green surrounding. The hostels are neat and clean, the atmosphere is very friendly.
• Each hostel is located adjacent to play grounds.
• Students are served with hygienic and nutritious food, which is delicious at the same time. Staff and faculty members also intake the same food.
• Ragging of any kind is totally prohibited in SMIT. Not a single case occurred till date.

There are Six hostels on campus . Of these four hostels are for male boarders.

1. Hostel 1 (Rabindra Bhavan - Male)
2. Hostel 2 (Nazrul Bhavan - Male)
3. Hostel 3 (Sukanta Bhavan - Male)
4. Hostel 4 (Sarat Bhavan - Male)
5. Hostel 5 (Sarada Bhavan - Female)
   
6. Hostel for female boarders & Staffs.

Each hostel has its own mess managed by its own duly elected mess committee which works under the hostel superintendent. Applications for hostel boarding are accepted at the time of admission. Those who cannot be accomodated in hostels can seek out one of the numerous messing and lodging facilities in the neighbourhood.
